Ways to Celebrate Mother's Day 2021
Mother's Day was
founded by Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia, whose mother had organized women's
groups to encourage friendship and health. She arranged a memorial service at
her late mother's church in Grafton, West Virginia, on May 12, 1907. Within
five years, almost every state had declared the day a holiday, and President
Woodrow Wilson declared it a national holiday in 1914.

Cook for
Mom or Set Up a Virtual Date
Breakfast in bed is always a classic and
appreciated if your mother lives with you. For this, something simple will
suffice, such as tapsilog or bread with peanut butter and a cup of coffee. Or, you
can also prepare a sit down breakfast if you want to eat together.
If you’re not with your mother or you can’t
give her a visit during the pandemic, how about setting up a virtual date? You
can conveniently buy her a food through grab or foodpanda. After she received
the order you can now call her in messenger and enjoy your food together.
Watch
a Movie or Series Together
If you’re all at home in one place, have a
movie that night, complete it with theater treats such as popcorn,
fries and burger.
If you’re in separate locations, watch the
same movie or series on your mobile phones or tablet at the same time while
enjoying your favorite drink. You can use the rave app to sync up what you’re
watching so your family members can join watching anywhere.
Make Mom a
video greeting or a piece of art
Create a video with all of the kids. They
can each say “Happy Mother’s Day” and why they appreciate her. You can always
use video editor to splice videos together on your phone. Or, make a tape
or a music playlist. You could compile a list of her all-time favorite songs
from the era that she loves most.
What about a one-of-a-kind piece of art for
Mom? For example, make a beautiful photo frame with your family photo
inside. You can find many ideas on Pinterest and elsewhere on the internet.
